Osprey Charging, the UK’s leading and fastest-growing EV rapid-charging network, has increased access to public charging in Bedfordshire with a hub of eight high-powered EV chargers installed at the Brewpoint brewery, providing residents, businesses and visitors with a simple and convenient EV charging experience.
The Brewpoint hub is the latest and largest facility built in collaboration with family-owned Wells & Co and the ninth site Osprey has created in total with the Bedfordshire landlord.
Situated next to the Brewpoint brewery, the new ultra-rapid charge points can each deliver up to 300kW and are managed with load balancing technology, which optimises grid connections and allows power to be distributed based on vehicle demand. This maximises charge speeds and significantly improves wait times and charge point availability.
The 300kW chargers are compatible with every EV on the market today, adding 100 miles of range in just 15-20 minutes, depending on the vehicle model and its battery. Osprey’s in-house software platform Osprey Iris enables market-leading reliability and innovation in EV roaming at the hub.
The chargers are easy to use and designed with simple payment for drivers, accepting contactless bank cards, Apple/Google Pay, the Osprey App and RFID card payments as well as payments through all major third-party payment methods including fleet cards.
Access to charging is one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption and the hub is expected to encourage EV uptake in the area, bolstering the UK’s national charging infrastructure as well as improving local air quality, reducing noise pollution and supporting local decarbonisation efforts.

We’re delighted to launch this flagship charging location with Wells & Co that brings the latest in rapid charging technology to Bedfordshire. The electric transition is well underway and we’re here to provide a reliable and rapid public charging service for drivers, from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands. Osprey now has over 800 charge points installed across the UK, each carefully designed to maximise space, accessibility and availability and made to the latest and highest standards. This new charging site at Wells & Co’s Brewpoint brewery in Bedford is a vital part of the re-charging network that will enable the decarbonisation of transport in the UK.

We are thrilled to offer a market-leading, reliable EV charging experience at our Brewpoint brewery and across our estate. The demand for rapid charging points continues to increase and Osprey is helping us deliver this important service at our pubs. This new hub is a fantastic addition for our customers as well as Bedfordshire residents and businesses, and we look forward to working with Osprey on many more locations in future. We consider this to be a critical part of our sustainability agenda and look forward to welcoming EV drivers to enjoy a coffee or meal at Brewpoint whilst they wait to charge.

As EV uptake increases across the country ahead of the 2035 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicles, more and more of Bedfordshire visitors will look for EV charging as standard. Osprey has funded this installation, operation and oversees maintenance of the chargers which are all supplied with renewable energy. Wells & Co benefits from a future-proofed car park and being able to attract more EV drivers as customers.
Osprey charging locations are consistently scored highly for safety and accessibility by independent inspection body ChargeSafe, and Osprey is in the Top 3 UK Chargepoint Network Operators for both personal safety and accessibility.
