Osprey finalists in Lloyds British Business Awards

We've been shortlisted for the Social & Sustainable Impact of the Year Award 2026

Osprey named a finalist in the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards 2026, for the Social & Sustainable Impact of the Year Award

Osprey is one of just 10 businesses shortlisted in the category, and joins a national field of almost 200 finalists across 20 categories at the UK's flagship business awards, headlined by Lloyds Bank, with ITV as media partner and the support of the UK government.

Quality and inclusion over speed of rollout

Osprey operates in a fast-scaling market where rapid expansion too often comes at the expense of quality, reliability and inclusion. We treat sustainability and accessibility not as features but as the foundation of a commercially robust business. We were the first UK operator to adopt the PAS 1899 accessibility standards in its site designs and the first to integrate directly with the Motability Scheme to serve its fleet of more than 915,000 customers.

Our proprietary Osprey Iris software platform, and our position as the first UK network to deploy dynamic load balancing, give us control over reliability and customer experience along with the most comprehensive payment and roaming options of any UK network. A full Scope 1 to 3 carbon assessment underpins a data-led Carbon Reduction Plan reaching across the supply chain, not just its energy.

Growth backed by government money

The approach is delivering measurable results. Over the past 18 months, charging on the network avoided 52.4 million kg of tailpipe CO2 while energy delivered grew 35 per cent. Commercially, a 158 per cent three year compound growth rate earned us tenth place in The Sunday Times 100 Tech ranking. In 2025 we secured a £110 million senior debt facility from four institutions including the UK Government’s National Wealth Fund, which confirmed its £25 million share in July 2025.

Amanda Murphy, CEO, Lloyds Business and Commercial Banking, said: "Behind every successful business is a story of ambition, determination and innovation. Inspiring entrepreneurs backing themselves to succeed. That's exactly what the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards celebrates. Osprey Charging is bringing new ideas, investing in its community and helping drive growth in the UK. They represent the very best of British enterprise and we're incredibly proud to back them."

Winners will be announced at the gala ceremony at Grosvenor House, London, in November, in front of 1,200 business leaders. In keeping with Awards tradition, winners ring the opening bell at the London Stock Exchange and are celebrated at the programme's annual reception at the House of Commons.
