New hub now open in Leamington Spa

Osprey Charging Network opens 8 new ultra-rapid EV charging bays at The Moorings, Leamington Spa

Eight cars or vans can charge at the new public charge points, which are ultra-rapid - adding up to 100 miles of range in just 15-20 minutes. The new charge points accept contactless bank cards, are compatible with every electric vehicle on the market today, and have a 24/7 free helpline for customers

Residents, shoppers and visitors to Leamington Spa now have improved access to electric vehicle charging with the opening of a new public ultra-rapid hub at The Moorings at Myton.

The eight ultra-rapid 300kW charge points can typically add up to 100 miles of range in just 15-20 minutes, depending on the model of vehicle and its battery level. Drivers can pay easily using contactless bank cards or Apple/Google Pay, with no need to download an app, although there is an Osprey Charging App available with a discount. The chargers are compatible with every electric vehicle on the market today.

The site has been selected for its location in Leamington Spa. The charging hub provides convenient charging for drivers travelling between Warwick and Leamington or through the town, located at an intersection between several of the main roads, with the pub as the perfect pit-stop. Designed with ease of use in mind, the charging bays are spacious and simple to access, with a free 24/7 helpline available to support customers whenever needed. For business and fleet drivers, receipts can be obtained via the Osprey App, and the chargers accept all major third-party payment methods

The new Warwickshire site is an important investment in Osprey’s roll-out of public rapid charging infrastructure in strategic locations across the UK. With over 1,500 charging bays available to British drivers, Osprey’s award-winning network is enabling more and more drivers to choose electric.

As EV uptake increases across the country ahead of the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicles, more and more of the residents without access to home chargers and visitors to Leamington Spa and Warwick will look for EV charging as standard. This installation will also encourage EV uptake in the area, improving local air quality, reducing noise pollution and supporting local decarbonisation efforts.

Osprey funded this installation and oversees the operation and maintenance of the chargers, all of which are powered by renewable energy. The landlord, Wells & Co, also benefits from a future-proofed car park and being able to attract more EV drivers as customers.

Building a charging network that drivers can rely on is critical to the UK’s shift to electric vehicles. Osprey is investing in high-quality, rapid charging hubs in locations that work for real journeys, not just for coverage on a map. With more than 1,500 charging bays now operational nationwide, this new site in Leamington Spa represents another important step in expanding practical, everyday EV charging.
